Weber Q320 Review

If you’re looking at purchasing an outdoor portable gas grill you really can’t go past the Weber Q320 Portable Outdoor Propane Gas Grill. This thing is expensive, but it’s well worth it if you can spend over 300 bucks. You can usually find a price that’s way below retail if you look online, so I recommend you check Amazon for the latest price.

Weber has a long history of producing high quality grills, and it doesn’t disappoint with the Q320. With over 450sq/inches of cooking space, it’s able to easily cook for big groups, and it has a large built in warming rack. The extra room lets you cook for a larger number of people than you could with the Q220. Keep in mind that the extra room means more weight – this grill weighs just over 80 pounds, so you really need the Weber stationary cart to move it around.

Another big feature that the Weber Q320 has (one that the Q300 lacks) is the no-fuss push button electric ignition. No more will you have to struggle with those annoying propane grills or scrounge around looking for that last box of matches to get it going.

The Q320 also comes equipped with two porcelain-enamelled cast-iron cooking grates. These act as heat dispensers that make sure your plates heat up evenly, so you never need to hunt around the plate to find the ‘hot spots’.

The Q320 also has some other great features like the folding worktables with tool hooks or the free stationary cart or recipe book.

User Reviews of Weber Q320

Since its release there’s been a lot of talk about the Weber Q320 and it’s nearly all positive. The Q320 has been receiving fantastic reviews from many people that have purchased and used it. The 3 big points people are talking about are:, Inc.1)      The added no-fuss push button electric ignition and warming rack which the Q 300 lacked.

2)      The way it uses the enamelled cast-iron cooking grates to evenly heat and cook your food and the way it only takes 10-15 minutes to get the cooking temperature to 600 degrees.

3)      The reasonable price!

Here is what some users are saying about the Weber Q320:
“Every part from the very sturdy plastic legs and wheels to the really heavy cast iron grill grates were top quality and fit together like few things I have ever assembled before.” – Rick K., Florida

“This grill is by far the best grill we have ever owned over the last 35 years of grilling!” – Bob M., Amazon

Overall if you’re looking for an affordable, easy to use, no-fuss, portable gas grill you can’t go past the Weber Q320. Its quality has been compared to a lot of the higher priced grills available and it’s a cut above other grills in the same price range. So if you’re looking for an affordable easy to use grill you can’t go past the Weber Q320. Try comparing the Q320 to other models on Amazon: Weber Q320., Inc.

Weber Q220 Portable Propane Grill Review

The Weber Q220 is the ‘just right’ portable gas grill. It is right in the middle between Weber’s Q120 and Q320 models – the Q120 is smaller and lighter, while the Q320 is larger and heavier. In terms of portability, this grill folds up nice and compact, and it’s easy to move around. However, don’t be fooled into thinking this is a tiny grill by the term ‘portable’. With 280 square inches of cooking space, the Q220 can cook a dozen large burgers or six large steaks. A big plus is the cast-iron grate, which is excellent for searing meat and holding in the heat. Like all Weber Q grills, the Q220 has two foldable plastic side tables and push-button ignition.

This grill gets hot very quickly – it can reach 400 degrees in about 5 minutes. Control of the temperature is precise, since there is a built-in thermometer on the hood. This grill can get hot for searing steaks, or it can cook at low heat and roast whole chickens.

The Q220 is an upgraded version of the Q200 with a couple extra features. First, it has a slightly taller lid. This extra room allows you to cook a whole chicken, half turkey, or full-sized roast. (These may not fit into the Q200, depending on their size.) Second, this grill has a built-in temperature gauge on the lid. Considering that this grill is easy to carry around and can still cook for a large group, it is the ideal tailgate grill.

Weber Q220 User Reviews

Like all Weber grills, the Q220 has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from those who have purchased and used it. On Amazon, 65 out of 70 buyers gave this grill a 4 or 5 star rating. Many users described debating between a cheapo grill and a Weber; they were all satisfied with their choice to pay for American-made quality:

“My wife and I spent a great deal of time looking at different small gas grills. We checked out the Weber Q100, but decided it wasn’t large enough for the family… We saw the Weber Q220 (with the side trays) at a store, thought it was the right size for us, but it was a little pricey. We thought about it for several days, and then found it for $50 less online. This grill is everything we’d hoped for and all you’d expect from a Weber grill. It was easy to put together (I did it myself so the wife wouldn’t bug me) and it was ready to go in about 30 minutes. We haven’t had a bad meal from it yet.”

Other reviewers praised the electronic push-button ignition (a feature that most Weber Q grills have):

“I really like the electronic ignition. Turn on the gas, push the button, click, click, and you’re in business… Also if your igniter doesn’t work, just change the battery! Some people complain about this but it turns out they didn’t read the manual.”

Experienced grillers that formerly had a large stationary grill were pleasantly surprised at the power of the Q220 – that’s a consistent theme of the reviews on Amazon:

“At first, I was worried that the 12,000 BTUs wouldn’t be enough – that’s only one-third the power of my large grill. However, with the combination of the cast aluminum body and cast iron grill surface, this grill can make the thermometer needle reach 600deg F only 15 min after hitting the igniter. In other words She gets HOT ! Steaks sear very well and they take even less time to cook than on my behemoth 40,000 BTU BBQ!”

Overall, the Weber Q220 is a great option for a higher-end portable grill. The online price will always be much less than retail – I recommend checking out the pricing on Amazon here: Weber Q220.

The Weber 121020 portable charcoal grill might only be able to cook for around two people, but because of its efficiency and great design it has been receiving great reviews and has proved yet again the quality of Weber grills.

“I can honestly say that this grill has exceeded my expectations! It is well built, and folds up very compactly for storage. It (like all Weber products) cooks very evenly, and refuses to flare up. Weber 1520 Review

Weber 1520If you need an easily portable propane grill that’s great for two people and highly efficient, then the Weber 1520 Propane Gas Go-Anywhere Grill is just what you’re looking for. It is cheap too – usually around fifty bucks on Amazon.

Although this is one of the lower end grills it still has a lot of the great features, and like most Weber units it has the easy start push-button ignition, heat distributor, and easily transportable design.

The Weber 1520 is one of Weber’s lower end grills with a price that’s hard to beat, but you need to be prepared that buying something this inexpensive may have some pitfalls.

Weber 1520 Specifications:

• 160sqr/inches of Cooking Space
• Only 14.5 pounds
• Triple nickel-plated cooking grate
• Push button ignition system
• Heat distributing flavorizer bar
• Pivot legs that lock the lid for added safety
• Porcelain-enamelled cooking box, rust resistant

Weber 1520 User Reviews:

I mentioned earlier that there are some downfalls with this model, and the big ones are the small cooking area, uneven cooking surface and the lack of sufficient heat to char grill.

First it needs to be known that the cooking area isn’t designed to be big. This grill is for groups no bigger than 2. If you are looking for a portable propane grill that can cook for larger groups than I recommend having a look at the Weber Q 320 which has a much larger cooking space, but is just as transportable.

The second big issue with the Weber 1520 is the uneven cooking area. A lot of people who’ve used this small grill have talked about the way the plates heat unevenly, but they’ve all found other great uses for the lower temperatures. Just read this review:

“I found that one end of the grill is cooler than the other which is nice for warming or holding food before serving.”

The third issue was its lack of heat to char grill steaks and other meats. Unfortunately for a grill this size and price it can be hard to char grill anything. Some users have experimented with taking the flavorizer bar out and claim it heats much better, but it will result in uneven cooking temperatures.., Inc.In conclusion although the Weber 1520 Propane gas Go-Anywhere grill does have some shortfalls people have found great ways to use them to their full advantage. This is a small, easy-to-use, portable and easy start gas grill that’s hard to beat for price and quality, and I can confidently recommend it to anyone looking for a small griller for camping or tailgating. Son of Hibachi Portable Combo Grill Review

Son Of Hibachi Combo GrillThe Son of Hibachi Combo is a great portable charcoal grill for camping, fishing, tailgating, or picnics because it’s light, quick to setup and pack-up, and it heats up really fast. It’s cheap too – usually under $100 if you check Amazon here.

One feature the Son of Hibachi has that sets it apart from other grills is the special Snuff out Pouch. This pouch is made from fire retardant materials so that you can easily, and safely, pack up this grill even when it’s still hot which makes it great for picnics or tailgating.

The only downside though is that this portable BBQ grill is only big enough to cook for one to two people, so don’t expect to be preparing food for large groups.

Son Of Hibachi Charcoal Grill Specifications:

  • Quick star charcoals with unique chimney effect to allow fast cooking
  • A compact 170sqr/inch cooking space
  • Highly effective self cleaning process that saves you time and effort
  • Special fire retardant snuff out pouch lets you pack while it’s still hot
  • Weighs just 17 pounds

Another great thing about the Son of Hibachi grill is that there are a number of great accessories available like the Triple Spit Rotisserie. The Triple spit is a great tool that lets your spit roasts cook evenly while allowing them to baste in their own juices, and it runs on a single D battery, and folds up so that it’s easily transportable.

Son Of Hibachi Grill Reviews:

The Son of Hibachi grill has been receiving some great responses from users who have used and tested this little grill. The 3 biggest features that are being talked about are 1) its sleek and sturdy design 2) the great flavour that it cooks your food with and 3) the unique Snuff out Pouch that lets you pack and clean up quickly.

“I bought this grill 2 years ago and have loved it. My family and friends love the food I make on it as well. I have cooked on it about fifteen times and have not had one disaster or complete failure to cook good food with it.” – Wayne

In conclusion if you’re looking for a portable charcoal grill for small picnics or small camping trips then the Son of Hibachi might be what you’re looking for. It comes with a number of great features like the Snuff out Pouch, but if you want something more cost effective and just as efficient you can’t go past the Weber Go-Anywhere grill. If you’d like to compare the pricing of the two, check out Amazon: Son Of Hibachi Combo Grill., Inc.

Blue Rhino GBT1030 Portable Propane Barbecue Grill Review

Blue Rhino GBT 1030The Blue Rhino GBT1030 is a fairly new grill on the market and it fits somewhere between a Weber 1520 and Q 200. The Blue Rhino is a great choice for camping, tailgating or apartments and is perfectly suited to cooking for two people. You can get it for under a hundred bucks on Amazon here.

Firstly the Rhino GBT1030 has a much larger cooking area then any of the other grills in its price bracket making it a great choice for small families. Secondly the high powered twin burners can output up to 28,000 BTU which is just as strong as any of the higher priced models, and much higher than any of the other models in its price range which means you can easily sear or char grill steaks just the way you like them.

Another feature that the Blue Rhino GBT1030 has is its very stable, foldable, and lockable legs. The legs on the Rhino are designed to sit securely on any surface, which makes it great for camping. The legs fold up so it can still be transported easily.

It’s important to mention that on this grill you should never cook with the lid down. The Rhino GBT1030 can pump out a massive 28,000 BTU which, coupled with the low lid, could ruin food if you turn the heat up too high.

One nice touch that’s usually not found in this price range is the removable griddle which covers one burner (see the photo above.) The griddle can be used for pancakes or bacon, or it can be removed entirely if you just want to grill.

[table id=2 /]

The Rhino GBT1030 also comes with the easy push button ignition as well so you won’t ever need to struggle to get it lit.

Blue Rhino GBT 1030 User Reviews:

“This is a wonderful grill. I’m not by any means a pro at grilling out, but this grill has made it seem as though I am. It does not use the propane at a fast rate either making the propane bottle last through several uses.”- Zyron

Overall the Blue Rhino GBT1030 portable propane grill is a great choice for small families who may be going on a camping trip, but don’t want to pay for a high priced model with a larger cooking area.

If you have a bit extra to spend I recommend looking at the Coleman Road Trip grill. It uses only the highest quality parts, has a lot of power and has a decent sized cooking plate to cater for small families, and is only slightly more expensive. You could also try comparing the Blue Rhino to other grills on Amazon: Blue Rhino GBT1030.

Comparison of Blue Rhino GBT1030 vs. Other Grills

The characteristic that stands out about this grill is that it puts out a LOT of power.  28,000 BTUs is considerably more than every other portable grill. This means you can easily sear steaks. However, it also means you should never cook with the lid down, because you will incinerate your food :) At less than $100, this grill is also pretty cheap. It’s a nice touch that it has a removable griddle surface.

My only concern is that this grill relatively new to the market, and it doesn’t have the longstanding reputation for quality that Weber grills have. Blue Rhino itself began as a propane cylinder exchange company, and expanded into barbecue grills about 10 years ago. The company itself has an excellent reputation; they’re just not as popular as Weber yet.
