Weber Q320 Review

If you’re looking at purchasing an outdoor portable gas grill you really can’t go past the Weber Q320 Portable Outdoor Propane Gas Grill. This thing is expensive, but it’s well worth it if you can spend over 300 bucks. You can usually find a price that’s way below retail if you look online, so I recommend you check Amazon for the latest price.

Weber has a long history of producing high quality grills, and it doesn’t disappoint with the Q320. With over 450sq/inches of cooking space, it’s able to easily cook for big groups, and it has a large built in warming rack. The extra room lets you cook for a larger number of people than you could with the Q220. Keep in mind that the extra room means more weight – this grill weighs just over 80 pounds, so you really need the Weber stationary cart to move it around.

Another big feature that the Weber Q320 has (one that the Q300 lacks) is the no-fuss push button electric ignition. No more will you have to struggle with those annoying propane grills or scrounge around looking for that last box of matches to get it going.

The Q320 also comes equipped with two porcelain-enamelled cast-iron cooking grates. These act as heat dispensers that make sure your plates heat up evenly, so you never need to hunt around the plate to find the ‘hot spots’.

The Q320 also has some other great features like the folding worktables with tool hooks or the free stationary cart or recipe book.

User Reviews of Weber Q320

Since its release there’s been a lot of talk about the Weber Q320 and it’s nearly all positive. The Q320 has been receiving fantastic reviews from many people that have purchased and used it. The 3 big points people are talking about are:, Inc.1)      The added no-fuss push button electric ignition and warming rack which the Q 300 lacked.

2)      The way it uses the enamelled cast-iron cooking grates to evenly heat and cook your food and the way it only takes 10-15 minutes to get the cooking temperature to 600 degrees.

3)      The reasonable price!

Here is what some users are saying about the Weber Q320:
“Every part from the very sturdy plastic legs and wheels to the really heavy cast iron grill grates were top quality and fit together like few things I have ever assembled before.” – Rick K., Florida

“This grill is by far the best grill we have ever owned over the last 35 years of grilling!” – Bob M., Amazon

Overall if you’re looking for an affordable, easy to use, no-fuss, portable gas grill you can’t go past the Weber Q320. Its quality has been compared to a lot of the higher priced grills available and it’s a cut above other grills in the same price range. So if you’re looking for an affordable easy to use grill you can’t go past the Weber Q320. Try comparing the Q320 to other models on Amazon: Weber Q320., Inc.

Weber Q220 Portable Propane Grill Review

The Weber Q220 is the ‘just right’ portable gas grill. It is right in the middle between Weber’s Q120 and Q320 models – the Q120 is smaller and lighter, while the Q320 is larger and heavier. In terms of portability, this grill folds up nice and compact, and it’s easy to move around. However, don’t be fooled into thinking this is a tiny grill by the term ‘portable’. With 280 square inches of cooking space, the Q220 can cook a dozen large burgers or six large steaks. A big plus is the cast-iron grate, which is excellent for searing meat and holding in the heat. Like all Weber Q grills, the Q220 has two foldable plastic side tables and push-button ignition.

This grill gets hot very quickly – it can reach 400 degrees in about 5 minutes. Control of the temperature is precise, since there is a built-in thermometer on the hood. This grill can get hot for searing steaks, or it can cook at low heat and roast whole chickens.

The Q220 is an upgraded version of the Q200 with a couple extra features. First, it has a slightly taller lid. This extra room allows you to cook a whole chicken, half turkey, or full-sized roast. (These may not fit into the Q200, depending on their size.) Second, this grill has a built-in temperature gauge on the lid. Considering that this grill is easy to carry around and can still cook for a large group, it is the ideal tailgate grill.

Weber Q220 User Reviews

Like all Weber grills, the Q220 has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from those who have purchased and used it. On Amazon, 65 out of 70 buyers gave this grill a 4 or 5 star rating. Many users described debating between a cheapo grill and a Weber; they were all satisfied with their choice to pay for American-made quality:

“My wife and I spent a great deal of time looking at different small gas grills. We checked out the Weber Q100, but decided it wasn’t large enough for the family… We saw the Weber Q220 (with the side trays) at a store, thought it was the right size for us, but it was a little pricey. We thought about it for several days, and then found it for $50 less online. This grill is everything we’d hoped for and all you’d expect from a Weber grill. It was easy to put together (I did it myself so the wife wouldn’t bug me) and it was ready to go in about 30 minutes. We haven’t had a bad meal from it yet.”

Other reviewers praised the electronic push-button ignition (a feature that most Weber Q grills have):

“I really like the electronic ignition. Turn on the gas, push the button, click, click, and you’re in business… Also if your igniter doesn’t work, just change the battery! Some people complain about this but it turns out they didn’t read the manual.”

Experienced grillers that formerly had a large stationary grill were pleasantly surprised at the power of the Q220 – that’s a consistent theme of the reviews on Amazon:

“At first, I was worried that the 12,000 BTUs wouldn’t be enough – that’s only one-third the power of my large grill. However, with the combination of the cast aluminum body and cast iron grill surface, this grill can make the thermometer needle reach 600deg F only 15 min after hitting the igniter. In other words She gets HOT ! Steaks sear very well and they take even less time to cook than on my behemoth 40,000 BTU BBQ!”

Overall, the Weber Q220 is a great option for a higher-end portable grill. The online price will always be much less than retail – I recommend checking out the pricing on Amazon here: Weber Q220.

Weber Q200 Review

Weber Q200The Weber Q200 is the model up from a Weber 1520, and is the new version of the old Q200 model. The new Q200 offers a bigger cooking area with a 12,000 BTU stainless steel burner making it perfect for small family camping trips, or to have around the holiday home or apartment. It is also fairly inexpensive – usually less than $200 if you check the pricing on Amazon.

The new Weber Q200 is another addition to the great range of Weber portable grills and comes packed with some of Weber’s standard features like its easy push-button ignition or its 2 foldable plastic worktables.

Another defining feature of the Weber Q200 portable propane grill is its durable cast-aluminium lid and body which will help it stand up to any punishment you might have to put it through.

  • Glass-reinforced nylon frame
  • Durable cast-aluminium lid and body

  • Easy push-button start

Weber Q200 User Reviews:

The Weber Q200 portable propane grill has been receiving some great reviews about the grills two biggest features, its solid cast-aluminium body and its no-fuss push-button ignition.

Although the cast-aluminium body adds some weight to the unit it serves in making it a lot stronger which is great when you’re dragging it around everywhere because you don’t need to worry about damaging or breaking it.

The push-button ignition is a recent addition to all of Weber’s fantastic portable grills and the Q200 is no different. The push-button ignition system is great for these portable grills because it can be used anywhere and you don’t need to rely on matches.

Weber Q200The biggest problem with this grill that I’ve seen is that the igniter doesn’t always work and can need reposition so that it lights the gas better.

“The food cooks nicely and I am happy with the looks and portability. It has stayed on even during some windy days.” – Charles

So if you’re looking for a great portable grill you can keep in the backyard, at the holiday house, or you’re looking for something to take on those small family camping trips then I suggest you check Amazon for the latest pricing: Weber Q200.

If you’re looking for something a bit smaller and cheaper then I recommend you read my review on the Weber 1520 Portable gas grill., Inc.

Weber One Touch Kettle Grills Review: Silver, Gold, and Platinum

weber one touch silver large 2The classic Weber Kettle charcoal grill has been in use for over 50 years. The basic design and pleasing shape hasn’t changed much, but the company has made many small improvements. Recently, Weber has rebranded its kettle grills under the ‘One-Touch’ line, which refer to the one-touch cleaning system that all kettles have. This review discusses the whole line of Weber One Touch grills and the differences between the Silver, Gold, and Platinum models.

No matter which grill you choose, the accessory that is recommended above all others is the Weber chimney starter. This is a large metal cylinder that makes lighting your charcoal a snap. You simply put some newspaper in the bottom, fill up the cylinder with charcoal, and light the paper. In a few minutes, your coals will be hot and ready to go. The chimney starter only costs about fifteen bucks, and it makes grilling with charcoal easier and more pleasant – no charcoal lighter fluid is needed.

“I’m impressed that the chimney starter is so simple, yet every time it works. It eliminates the annoyances usually associated with charcoal grilling. You get to enjoy the flavor benefits of charcoal, but you don’t get the lighter fluid taste.” – Reviewer on Amazon

Read on for information about the Weber kettle grill.

Basics Of The Weber One-Touch Kettle Grill

weber one touch platinum kettle smallThe Weber kettle grill is a bowl-shaped grill 22.5 inches in diameter. This is plenty of room – enough to cook two chickens, six large steaks, or twelve burgers. The kettle design retains heat when the lid is closed, allowing the grill to act like an oven. Since the lid has lots of room, you can cook large foods like whole chickens. The shape of the grill also distributes heat evenly over the entire surface, so there are few hot or cold spots.

The lid and bowl of all kettle grills are made from porcelain-enameled steel, which makes the kettle weather-resistant. As a result, these grills last forever – many buyers have reported using their Weber for over a decade. Here’s a typical review of a Weber kettle grill:

“I like the large area cooking area – I can throw lots of stuff on it at once. It doesn’t matter if the food is on the center or the outskirts of the grilling surface – if your coals are spread around evenly, everything will cook great. I attribute this to the kettle design which spreads the heat out evenly.”

The phrase ‘One Touch’ refers to Weber’s patented cleaning system. This is a series of lever-activated blades on the bottom of the kettle. When the lever is turned, the blades sweep ash out of the grill and into the ash-catcher.

Read on for a comparison of the three models.

Weber One Touch Kettle Grill Silver 22.5″

weber one touch silver kettle largeThe Silver kettle is the least expensive of the three models. You can get it for under one hundred dollars (check the price here: Silver kettle grill), and it will last for a decade. The largest difference between the Silver and Gold is the way in which they collect ash. The Silver has a pan which rests about six inches under the grill, while the Gold has a catch-can that fits closely to the bottom.

The ash pan is the only source of complaints about the Silver kettle. If you’re grilling on a windy day, there’s the chance of hot ash missing the pan and blowing away. Since the ash could land on your pants, don’t wear white when using the Silver kettle. :) The ash plate connects to the legs using spring clips. Some users felt the clips were flimsy – one wrote, “After the way everything else fit together perfectly, the clips seemed kinda cheesy to me. It was hard to level the pan.”

The other main difference between the Silver and Gold is the grate (grilling surface). The Gold model comes with a hinged grate that opens at the sides to allow access to the coals; the Silver model does not come with this grate. Thus, the default setup on the Silver model requires you to lift the whole grate if you want to add more coals.

However, the hinged grill can be purchased separately, so this problem is easily overcome. It’s less than $20 on Amazon: Weber 70915 Replacement Hinged Cooking Grate. Make sure you buy the 22.5″ grate for the same size grill.

Weber 751001 22.5-Inch One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill 22.5″

weber one touch gold large 2As mentioned, the Gold model has a catch-can that sits just under the bowl, so you are protected from flying ash. The can can be emptied without getting your hands dirty. Another big feature is that the Gold comes equipped with a hinged flip-up grate, which allows you to add more coals during a long roast. You can also use these hatches to move the coals around.

Pricewise, the Gold sells for about twice as much as the Silver – check the pricing on Amazon here: Weber Gold Kettle. A lot of people think this extra cost is worth it for the catch-can, which makes cleanup much easier. One user wrote,

“If you are trying to decide between the silver and the gold Weber grill, the Gold model is hands down the better option. The ash plate on the silver model is small, so it gets filled up with ash quickly. Also the ash plate is a possible fire hazard, because hot charcoal bits can fall off plate and singe the ground or your pants.”

In addition to black, the Gold model can be purchased in others colors such as green or blue. This is a nice aesthetic touch in addition to the kettle’s already classic form. If you’re able to spend the extra money, then the Gold’s extra features make it a good buy vs. the silver. For more higher-end features, read on to learn about the Platinum model.

Weber One-Touch Platinum Charcoal Grill 22.5″

weber one touch platinum kettle large 2The Platinum is the highest priced grill (see pricing here: Weber Platinum kettle) due to its many extra features. To begin with, this model has two Thermoset work-tables for food and utensils. This solves the problem of where to put stuff while you are grilling. With the other models, you can always just use your own worktable, but it’s nice to have them included as part of the grill. Additionally, the Thermoset worktables have hooks for hanging your utensils so as to keep room on the tables free.

The Platinum also has a sturdier cart than the Silver or Gold models. One user wrote,

“In the past I’ve had an issue with the three legs that came with the Gold kettle. They were too low and you couldn’t lift the kettle up or the legs would fall off. Not so with the Platinum. It’s bolted together which makes it safer and more sturdy. This cart is also higher which bring it closer to the user.”

Another nice bonus is the TuckAway lid holder. With the Platinum, you simply lift the lid of the grill and slide it back. This is convenient for storing the lid while grilling, and it also acts as a shield against the wind when lighting the grill. The Platinum also has a convenient built-in thermometer in the hood, a feature the Gold models lacks.

Weber also throws in a pair of Char-basket fuel holders to faciliate indirect cooking (a $15 value). That’s something that’s hard to do with a portable barbecue.

Summary of Weber One-Touch Kettle Grill Review

The three models of the Weber One-Touch Kettle Grill all have their advantages. The Silver is the least expensive of the lot – you can pick one up for under a hundred bucks on Amazon, and it will last for many years. The Gold has a couple of extra features like the ash-catch can and usually sells for about a hundred and sixty dollars. The Platinum is the top of the line and has tons of convenient extra features. It usually costs over two hundred dollars. To see additional reviews and pictures of the three grills, check out Amazon here: Weber kettle grills., Inc.

Weber 1520 Review

Weber 1520If you need an easily portable propane grill that’s great for two people and highly efficient, then the Weber 1520 Propane Gas Go-Anywhere Grill is just what you’re looking for. It is cheap too – usually around fifty bucks on Amazon.

Although this is one of the lower end grills it still has a lot of the great features, and like most Weber units it has the easy start push-button ignition, heat distributor, and easily transportable design.

The Weber 1520 is one of Weber’s lower end grills with a price that’s hard to beat, but you need to be prepared that buying something this inexpensive may have some pitfalls.

Weber 1520 Specifications:

• 160sqr/inches of Cooking Space
• Only 14.5 pounds
• Triple nickel-plated cooking grate
• Push button ignition system
• Heat distributing flavorizer bar
• Pivot legs that lock the lid for added safety
• Porcelain-enamelled cooking box, rust resistant

Weber 1520 User Reviews:

I mentioned earlier that there are some downfalls with this model, and the big ones are the small cooking area, uneven cooking surface and the lack of sufficient heat to char grill.

First it needs to be known that the cooking area isn’t designed to be big. This grill is for groups no bigger than 2. If you are looking for a portable propane grill that can cook for larger groups than I recommend having a look at the Weber Q 320 which has a much larger cooking space, but is just as transportable.

The second big issue with the Weber 1520 is the uneven cooking area. A lot of people who’ve used this small grill have talked about the way the plates heat unevenly, but they’ve all found other great uses for the lower temperatures. Just read this review:

“I found that one end of the grill is cooler than the other which is nice for warming or holding food before serving.”

The third issue was its lack of heat to char grill steaks and other meats. Unfortunately for a grill this size and price it can be hard to char grill anything. Some users have experimented with taking the flavorizer bar out and claim it heats much better, but it will result in uneven cooking temperatures.., Inc.In conclusion although the Weber 1520 Propane gas Go-Anywhere grill does have some shortfalls people have found great ways to use them to their full advantage. This is a small, easy-to-use, portable and easy start gas grill that’s hard to beat for price and quality, and I can confidently recommend it to anyone looking for a small griller for camping or tailgating. Check Amazon for the latest pricing: Weber 1520.

One feature the Son of Hibachi has that sets it apart from other grills is the special Snuff out Pouch. This pouch is made from fire retardant materials so that you can easily, and safely, pack up this grill even when it’s still hot which makes it great for picnics or tailgating.

The only downside though is that this portable BBQ grill is only big enough to cook for one to two people, so don’t expect to be preparing food for large groups.

  • Quick star charcoals with unique chimney effect to allow fast cooking
  • A compact 170sqr/inch cooking space
  • Highly effective self cleaning process that saves you time and effort
  • Special fire retardant snuff out pouch lets you pack while it’s still hot

Another great thing about the Son of Hibachi grill is that there are a number of great accessories available like the Triple Spit Rotisserie. The Triple spit is a great tool that lets your spit roasts cook evenly while allowing them to baste in their own juices, and it runs on a single D battery, and folds up so that it’s easily transportable.

Son Of Hibachi Grill Reviews:

The Son of Hibachi grill has been receiving some great responses from users who have used and tested this little grill. The 3 biggest features that are being talked about are 1) its sleek and sturdy design 2) the great flavour that it cooks your food with and 3) the unique Snuff out Pouch that lets you pack and clean up quickly.

“I bought this grill 2 years ago and have loved it. My family and friends love the food I make on it as well. I have cooked on it about fifteen times and have not had one disaster or complete failure to cook good food with it.” – Wayne

In conclusion if you’re looking for a portable charcoal grill for small picnics or small camping trips then the Son of Hibachi might be what you’re looking for. It comes with a number of great features like the Snuff out Pouch, but if you want something more cost effective and just as efficient you can’t go past the Weber Go-Anywhere grill. Cuisinart CCG-100 Review

Cuisinart CCG 100Nothing quite beats the taste of Charcoal grilled steak, and as far as portable Charcoal grills go it’s hard to go past the Cuisinart CCG-100 GrateLifter Portable Charcoal Grill. This quality grill usually costs around $150, so check Amazon for the latest price.

The Cuisinart CCG-100 has the ability to make you feel like you’re cooking on a much larger grill because it comes standard with a lot of the features you’d find on a full-sized charcoal grill, such as the hood mounted Temperature gauge.

It’s hard to beat the Cuisinart CCG-100 for value as well, since it comes with a unique lifting system that makes access to the charcoal bed much easier, a precision air flow control system, and a strong and very stable base.

Cuisinart CCG-100 Design Specifications:

• Unique lifting system to access charcoal bed

• Lid mounted Temperature Gauge

• Precision air flow system to allow accurate temperature control

• Massive 240sqr/inch cooking surface

• Porcelain enamel cover

• Strong base

• Ash collecting bin for easy cleaning

• Weighs only 29 pounds making it easy to move around

• 17.7W x 18.5L x 15.4H

Cuisinart CCG-100 User Reviews:

The most negative comment you can find about the Cuisinart CCG-100 is that the initial assembly can be confusing as the instructions and images don’t match what you need to do to get it together. That being said, construction is still easily manageable though, and with some common sense you should be able to put it together quite quickly.

Once you get past the assembly though you’ll have nothing but a quality portable charcoal grill that’s easily stored, works great, and will last you a long time. Here is what a user has to say about the Cuisinart CCG-100:

“In 34 years of owning charcoal grills, this is THE BEST DESIGNED GRILL I have ever owned. With an easy set-up, precision air flow, exact temperature readings, grill lift system, coal tray, large ash bin, sturdy portability, removable lid, easiest non scouring clean up and a 3 year warranty.” – Jim L., Portland

A lot of users have also commented about the great flavour that comes from using this charcoal grill, and just at how easy it is to use, clean and move around.

Overall the Cuisinart CCG-100 GrateLifter Portable Charcoal Grill easily compares to other high quality grills, and even though the price point is a bit higher than a Weber Go-Anywhere, the easy lift system and the large ash bin are hard to pass up. A good place to compare the CCG-100 to other grills is on Amazon: Cuisinart CCG-100.
